Chiropractic and functional neurology practice in Paris

Chiropractic in Paris: Effective treatment of chronic pain and neuro-musculoskeletal disorders

Pain and dysfunction, including musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) such as back pain, neck pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, but also headaches, migraines, etc., have a neuromuscular origin that could be corrected by appropriate chiropractic care.

“Each person is unique, and the response to their health problems must take this into account.
Our main objective is to correct the cause of the problems and allow for a stable joint structure and optimal functioning of the entire body, and in particular the nervous system, which is the system that governs the rest of the body!”

Reducing suffering and pain is the primary goal of care. But beyond this symptomatic approach, we make every effort, with the patients’ help, to address the underlying causes of their problems and educate them on how to care for their bodies. A stable, long-term outcome requires a more comprehensive approach and greater patient empowerment.

What is functional neurology and how can it help you?

The functional neurology approach in our practice

New discoveries in functional neurology have given rise to the specialty of chiropractic neurology. This specialty, which requires three years of study after obtaining a Doctor of Chiropractic degree, allows for a deeper understanding of the neurological problems underlying symptoms, whether simple issues like back pain (lumbago, sciatica, neck pain, etc.) or more complex problems such as vestibular migraines, vertigo, attention deficit, balance problems, and symptoms that can appear following a concussion, a mild traumatic brain injury, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, or dysautonomia, etc.

This approach is what makes our practice in Paris unique. Indeed, today many people have learned to perform spinal manipulations with varying degrees of training (and sometimes very short training!). However, performing spinal manipulations without understanding the implications of such a procedure on the nervous system is nonsensical! This is why chiropractors specializing in chiropractic neurology have undergone an additional 3 years of training and continue to be educated continuously in order to provide the best answers to patients’ problems from both a diagnostic and technical point of view.

CARRICK INSTITUTE

Carrick Institute

The Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies, founded by Professor Frederick Carrick, is a renowned institution for education and research in functional and clinical neurology. Much has recently been said about the revolutionary methods Professor Carrick developed for treating concussions in elite American and Canadian athletes. These methods are the result of research in functional neurology undertaken by Professor Carrick and his team over the past thirty years.

For more than 25 years, Denis Alemi has continued to improve his knowledge in functional neurology through conferences and training, notably those provided by the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies (more than 1000 hours to date).

This innovative approach allows us to work with patients who have chronic problems and who respond poorly to other forms of care. This approach allows us to use conventional chiropractic techniques and/or specific exercises and stimulation to retrain the body and nervous system to function optimally.
